Art Deco Ruby and Diamond Double Clip Brooch

A dynamic design based on two elements, the semicircle and the scrolling palmette. The two halves of this brooch are detachable from the frame and can be worn separately. The fluidity of this design moves away from the rather flattened, static geometry of the later Deco period and points towards the so-called Retro-style of the second half of the thirties. The unmistakeable, colour enhancing, fluorescent red glow within the rubies and their inclusions are diagnostic with those gems emanating from the infamous Mogok stone tract of Burma. Original presentation case of The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company of 112 Regent Street who later acquired and merged in 1952 with the then Crown jewellers, Garrard & Co. Date circa 1935.

Square cut Sapphire Diamond and Platinum Engagement ring

An unusual design inspired by Cartier creations of around 1908-9, especially those emanating from the workshop of Georges Andrey. An innovative method at the time; four smaller colour matched gems are precisely cut and positioned together so as to give the appearance of a larger stone but having the advantage of a sleek, lower profile to the finger. The gems are secured by a central pin, here set with a smaller diamond. The sapphires featured weigh 1.14 carats in total. The 36 brilliant cut diamonds to the border weigh 0.41 carats. This is a handmade one-off piece mounted in platinum. Finger size M (53 metric)

Topaz Brilliant and Tapered Baguette Diamond Ring

The elegantly proportioned topaz is fashioned in the relatively rarely encountered 'scissor-cut' style. The stone positively 'glows' with the desirable tint of a rich orange-brown, especially at its terminals. This feature is reminiscent of those stones emanating from the Ouro Preto mines of Brazil justly deserving of the exclusive designation, 'imperial'. Mounted in platinum and yellow gold.
