Description
Chinese blue and white klapmuts bowl, Wanli (1573-1619), decorated in the centre with a basket of flowers, the cavetto with alternating panels containing auspicious symbols and sprays of flowers, the rim with sprays of peaches.
Dimensions:
Diameter: 21.5cm. (8 1/2in.)
Condition:
Shallow chip to underside of rim, frits to rim, firing crack and some sand to base.
Notes:
The name 'Klapmuts' derives from the Dutch klapmutsen hats as they share a similar shape, with rounded walls and flattened rim.
