A French 1940s Gold Tubogas Choker
A French 1940s Gold Tubogas Choker
£1,875.00
Description
flexible and slinky gold tube in nine carat yellow gold made with the tubogas technology of the forties, with graduating flat links. Also known as a gas pipe, snake chain, or cobra choker.
First exhibited in 1934 and popular throughout the forties, it would look as good today with a t-shirt and jeans as it would with evening wear. Scroll to picture 3 showing the wonderful way Gene Tierney wore a similar necklace in the 1945 thriller movie “Leave her to Heaven”.
