Description

An excellent example of a premium quality Victorian silver mount claret jug.

The crystal body, made by Stevens & Williams in the pond lily design, is mounted in sterling silver with the silver following the crystal designed body. This mount further embellished with a sterling silver hallmarked finial, following the general floral theme.

The silver collar is fully hallmarked for Mappin & Webb, the interior of the lid is further hallmarked. The vine leaf finial has another set of hallmarks, suggesting that this is a later addition - there is some engine turning under the leaf (please see images).

Condition: The jug is in excellent condition. The silver shows no splits or damage. There are no monograms or erasures. The glass is not cloudy or stained and is in good order.
