Antique Russian bronze figure " The Archer" from the period of "Ivan The Terrible", 19 century , by Evgeniy Lanceray.
These are 19th century bronze historic sculpture depictions, by Lanceray, from the medievil period during which Ivan iv ( Ivan The Terrible ) was Grand Prince of Moscow from 1533 - 1547 and first Tsar of all Russia from 1547 - 1584. In 1550 Ivan created Russia’s first full-time military force.
16th-century Muscovite cavalry.
Mounted archery remained an effective tactical system in open country until the introduction of repeating firearms.
Signed Lanceray in Cyrillic script with Chopin foundry mark.
