Description
An excellent example of a large and impressive premium quality Victorian silver mount claret jug.
The mount features a wonderfully details Bacchus mask with fruiting vine tendrils and heavy cast vine shaped handle. The crystal body etched with stylised palmette decoration with geometric border all on star cut foot.
The silver collar is fully hallmarked for Martin Hall, 1868. The interior of the lid suggests that the piece had a gilt decoration.

Size: Measures 11 1/4" (29 cm) tall.
Condition: The jug is in excellent condition considering that this piece is over 150 years old. The silver shows no splits or damage. There are no monograms, the hinge is a little loose. The glass is not cloudy or stained and is in good order.
