Description
A silver & crystal claret jug made by the firm of Richards & Brown.
This fine and unusual sterling silver and crystal claret jug is made in the aesthetic taste. The crystal body lightly etched in the ancient Greek / Roman style with anthemion decoration above a horizontal line of etched printies and vertical cuts, all over a star cut base. The silver mount echoes the design, with the lid surmounted by a regal lion holding a shield.

Markings: Fully hallmarked for .925 sterling silver, London 1869. Hallmarked for ECB for Edward Charles Brown as per the image above, in addition the lid is hallmarked to the interior.
Size: Measures 10" (25 cm) tall.
Condition: Item is in excellent order. The silver has been bright polished and shows no signs of monograms or removals. The interior of the glass has been professionally cleaned. Please see images above.
