Description
An interesting silver & cut crystal claret jug decanter.
Unboxed.
Made by premier silversmiths Asprey, and having the Charles Asprey and George Asprey hallmark, this fine and unusual jug is made from glass from James Powell & Sons, later Whitefriars, glass.
Markings: Fully hallmarked for .925 sterling silver, London 1907. Please see image above.
Size: Measures 11 1/4" (28.5 cm) cm tall.
Condition: The jug is in order commensurate with age and use, this item is over 100 years old. The silver is in good condition, with monograms or repairs, but some light dinks and dents. The crystal body is in general good order with the panel cutting having some minor chipping to the widest edge - see final image. The is a little detritus to the interior, which disappears when filled with a liquid. Please see images above.
