Description
An early example of an antique sterling silver hip flask.
This is a fine, quality example that features a detachable screw top lid, all mounted on an oval shaped body with rounded shoulders. There is a flush gold-gilt detachable cup with matching hallmarks. A smaller, more compact size that has a no evidence of engravings or personalisation. A good gauge of silver, suitable for personalisation if desired.
Comes without the original box, but supplied with one of our grey velvet pouches.
Markings: Fully hallmarked for .925 sterling silver, dated London 1842. Sponsor's mark "TJ", for Thomas Johnson. Weight of 114 grams.
Size: Measures 4" (10 cm) tall, 2 1/8" (5.5 cm) wide. Approx. 2.5 fl oz, 75 ml.
Condition: Item is in excellent condition, professionally cleaned and (lightly) polished, ready to go. Some very very slight signs of use commensurate with age - please see images above.
