An excellent example of a Victorian sterling silver Christening mug.
Made with spreading circular foot and C-scroll handle, this Victorian Christening mug is profusely hand engraved with floral swags and bows surrounded by a floral and geometric design border. Has a vacant area that shows no signs of previous personalised engravings.
Sponsor's mark of Stephen Smith, with retailer's mark for the Goldsmiths Alliance of Cheapside.
Weighs 177 grams.
Item is in vintage condition, no splits, with a nice soft silver patina, a few very signs of use commensurate with age and use. Please see images above.
