Description
A stunning example of a Stourbridge engraved claret jug with silver plated mount.
With a slight nod to the aesthetic style, the plated mount features crisply cast swan shaped handle, with flower engraving. The stunning crystal body hand engraved with a large single heron amongst the reeds.
Unboxed.
Markings: The silver collar is unmarked, no maker's marks that we can find. The engraving is not signed.
Size: Measures 10 5/8" (26.5 cm) tall.
Condition: The jug is in excellent condition considering that this piece is over 100 years old. The mount shows no splits or damage. There are no monograms, the hinge is secure and fits well. The glass has little detritus where the body meets the foot. The rest of the body is clear and shows very few signs of use. Some scratches to the base commensurate with age. Please see images above.
