Description
An excellent example of a impressive premium quality Edwardian silver mount claret jug.
The mount being of plain form dome form, hinged to a Christopher Dresser inspired handle and spout. The silver is mounted on a cut crystal body cut in the ornate "Russian" design, although this also matches the "American Brilliant Cut", with interspersed plain vertical panels. The crystal body most likely made by Thomas Webb.
The silver collar is fully hallmarked for Travis, Wilson & Co, Sheffield, 1913. The interior of the lid also has the sponsors mark and Lion passant.

Size: Measures 11 1/8" (28 cm) tall.
Condition: The jug is in excellent condition considering that this piece is over 100 years old. The silver shows no splits or damage. There are no monograms, or removals that we can detect. The glass is not cloudy or chipped, but does have a little staining to the interior of the base. The base is quite scratched to the underside, commensurate with age.
