£1,000.00
Description
An excellent example of a impressive premium quality Art Deco silver mount claret jug.
The body being of trumpet form, with the mount in a slightly earlier Christopher Dresser / Edwardian style. The mount has a small thumb handle and small round pouring spout.
Unboxed.
Markings: The silver collar is fully hallmarked for Walker & Hall, Sheffield, 1926. The interior of the lid also has the sponsor's mark and Lion passant.
Size: Measures 11 1/4" (28.5 cm) tall.
Condition: The jug is in excellent condition considering that this piece is almost 100 years old. The silver shows no splits or damage, although the thumb handle is at a slight angle for a right handed user. There are no monograms, or removals that we can detect. The glass is not cloudy or stained, there is a little detritus ring to the interior base, but not serious. There is a small scratched around on the bottom row that is visible on inspection. The base is quite scratched to the underside, commensurate with age.
