A 17th-century fine gold poesy ring with the inscription "In Conftancy I live and die". Posy rings originate from the French word "poésy" for a motto or verse and were used extensively from the 16th to 18th centuries as lover's tokens and betrothal or wedding rings. This ring was made circa 1680-1700.
