Description
A continental silver ewer-shaped vinaigrette, probably Maltese. Early 18th century, only marked with a later French control mark. The paneled sides engraved with flowers and fruit, and the front panel initialed "FET" above a scroll inscribed "VILA" in turn above a mask from which hang pendant fruit, domed covered, "S" scroll side handle, and hinged gilt grill pierced with leaves.
