A pair of Persian (Qajar period) silver vases in the shape of flowers, made in Isfahan or Shiraz, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century (c. 1880–1920). The relief decoration combines floral patterns with figural scenes characteristic of Qajar metalwork. This elegant pair of Persian silver vases embodies the refined decorative traditions of the late Qajar period. Each vase rises from a round, flared base to a gently tapering pear-shaped body, surmounted by a wide, wavy, flared rim shaped like a blossoming flower. The sculptural silhouette evokes the natural form of a flower in bloom, an enduring symbol of beauty and renewal in Persian art. The vase bodies are richly decorated with relief decoration depicting flowering plants populated by songbirds, set against a background of fine stippling, enhancing the contrast between the polished relief and the textured surface. Among the floral ornamentation are figurative panels depicting bearded courtiers in traditional Persian robes and headdresses, gathered around a central ceremonial standard or finial. The ornamentation is complemented by engraved borders with ornate arabesques and stylized floral bands framing the neck and base.
