Description
An antique necklace in 15ct gold, centred on a crescent moon and star set with seed pearls. The crescent carries a graduated line of pearls, and a larger pearl sits at the heart of the star. On each side, a gold leaf sprig set with more pearls leads up to a small flared end, so the design opens out softly across the collarbone. The pearls glow against the warm gold, and the beaded edges add a delicate, finely worked finish.
The centrepiece hangs from an oval trace chain at 15", so it sits at the base of the neck and is easy to wear alone. The crescent and star was a favourite motif of late Victorian and Edwardian jewellery, and this necklace is small, light and full of period charm. Authenticated by us.
