Description
A pair of drop earrings in 9ct yellow gold. Each hangs from a shepherd's hook and a small ball, then a graceful twisted loop that crosses over itself and opens into a crescent. A crowned heart sits at the centre, the Claddagh motif of love and loyalty, and below it the crescent fans out into a row of scalloped petals. The polished surfaces and the rhythm of the scallops make the gold look soft and full, and the drops move well as you do.
The twisted loop and the scalloped fan are in the manner of late nineteenth-century drop earrings, and the pair measures 55mm from top to tip, long enough to be seen without being heavy at 1.66g each. They are fitted with shepherd's hooks for pierced ears. A warm, wearable pair of earrings with plenty of character. Authenticated by us.
