An exceptionally rare and beautiful 18th-century Chinese silver filigree lidded basket, exquisitely crafted in a lobed form and raised on six delicate leaf-shaped feet. The basket showcases the extraordinary skill of the silversmith, with intricate hand-woven silver filigree creating a wonderfully delicate, lace-like effect throughout.
The rounded body is framed and strengthened by solid silver, with six elegantly curved panels richly decorated with intricate floral motifs. The removable domed cover is equally impressive, featuring six finely worked panels and surmounted by a beautifully detailed melon-shaped finial. The interior is adorned with concentric circular rows of delicate filigree, demonstrating the remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail lavished on this exceptional piece.
