Edwardian 15ct Gold Fancy Link Bracelet, Spectrum Antiques
Edwardian 15ct Gold Fancy Link Bracelet, Spectrum Antiques
£1,650.00
Description
A handsome Edwardian bracelet in 15ct gold, formed of alternating polished navette-shaped links and openwork fancy links, the smooth domed forms playing against the pierced loops for a rhythmic, elegant line along the wrist. It fastens with a concealed box clasp and is secured by a fine safety chain.
15ct gold is one of the quiet pleasures of Edwardian English jewellery — a standard abolished in 1932, so found only on pieces of genuine age, and warmer and richer in tone than the 9ct that replaced it. Substantial yet supple, this is a lovely example of early twentieth-century goldwork: the kind of versatile antique bracelet that wears beautifully every day and layers well with others.
