Edwardian Shield Signet Ring | Banded Agate & Engraved 18ct Gold | 1901
Edwardian Shield Signet Ring | Banded Agate & Engraved 18ct Gold | 1901
POA
Description
A striking British signet ring made in 1901, set with a shield-shaped plaque of banded agate and mounted in 18ct gold.
The agate is beautifully cut into a crisp shield shape, and two parallel double bands run diagonally across it, symmetrical, natural, and perfectly aligned within the dark ground.
The 18ct gold shoulders are lightly engraved with scrollwork, just enough to catch the light and allow the unique stone to remain the focus of the piece.
The shank bears full English hallmarks: an anchor for Birmingham, a crown and “18” for 18ct gold, and the date letter “b” for 1901.
Ring size M. Excellent condition.
