Description
A rare and wonderfully substantial Art Nouveau ring, of French origin and crafted in richly toned 18k rose gold.
At its centre sits a magnificent 1.80ct cushion-cut basaltic sapphire, confirmed as natural, unheated and untreated. Its intense blue is flanked by two beautifully characterful antique-cut diamonds, totalling approximately 1.00ct.
The broad shoulders are intricately sculpted with flowers, curling leaves and flowing organic forms—the naturalistic motifs that defined the Art Nouveau movement. Rather than simply holding the gemstones, the goldwork appears to grow around them, bringing the entire composition together as one beautifully considered design.
Weighing an impressive 12.82g, the ring has a reassuring substance and presence on the hand, while its low profile makes it exceptionally comfortable and wearable.
A remarkable survivor from one of jewellery’s most creative periods—and an entirely individual piece unlikely to be encountered again.
