A French brooch in the form of a tortoise, made in the 1960s and set in 18ct gold.
Its shell is finished in green plique-à-jour enamel - luminous and finely patterned - while the limbs and head are accented with diamonds.
Hallmarked with the French eagle’s head and maker’s mark.
Measures approximately 4cm x 3cm.
Beautifully made and full of character - a rare example of mid-century French craftsmanship in both enamel and form.
