What we have here is a truly remarkable piece of Swiss Horology and we don't say that lightly. This Heuer 844 Mark 1 from 1979 is regarded by some as being the saviour of Heuer after the Quartz crisis but its so much more than that.
All original other than the crown which we believe to be a Heuer replacement possibly at a service.
Dial - Other than being just beautiful this dial is indeed the original Mark 1 dial for the watch. Luminous hour markers that have gone a wonderful creamy colour followed by the nice touch of red on the centre ring of numbers. No Stamp of where the watch is made on the dial which gives an indication that this is a Mark 1.
Bracelet - To fit a wrist to 18cm with spare links we believe to be full length and original to the watch as is the clasp.
Hands - Original to watch
Bezel - Original to Watch
Crown - Believed to be Heuer service crown.
What is so special about this watch? We could go on for hours but we will keep it short and sweet here. The watch was Heuer's first diver a watch to challenge the likes of the Rolex Sea Dweller. It was also produced in France we think to keep costs lower using a case made by G.Monnin but this last just a few years before production went to Switzerland.
With very few of the Mark 1's produced and remaining original this is a rare chance to own a piece of Heuer history without doubt.
