Delighted to be able to offer our customers this vintage Longines 6403-8 sold on its own in addition to our 12-month warranty. According to the serial number, this watch was produced in 1956. The markings on the caseback suggest that the watch has had services in '62, '73, '99 and 2002.
This Longines, model 6403-8, features 33mm stainless steel case, champagne dial with Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock, stepped batons at 3 and 9 o'clock, single baton hour markers throughout the rest and a plexiglass.
This manual wind Longines is equipped with a 23ZS movement which was considered by many watchmakers a pioneer for its time. Its historical significance is associated with the fact that the movement was released in the immediate aftermath of WWII, a time when almost all horological houses were reluctant to spend money. The 23ZS consists of 17 jewels and has a power reserve of around 40 hours.
Fitted to a generic brown leather strap with a pin buckle which can fit a wrist of up to 19cm.
