This Omega 9ct dress watch, albeit a lovely example of a vintage Omega, is fairly ordinary to look at, but it comes with a great story and the condition is out of this world!

Not the cheapest for sure, you can judge if its worth paying a little more for something super special.

First sold in the Portsmouth area in 1979 to Mr T. C. Webb, it was bought by his employers as a gift to mark 30 years of dedicated service to the company.

That company was Vosper Thornycroft, formed from the merger of Vosper of Portsmouth and John I. Thornycroft of Southampton — two great city rivals with historic links to shipbuilding.

Among many other marine interests, the company produced Royal Navy ships and the technology used within them. Clearly, Mr Webb was a well respected member of staff. Omega, too, has links to Southampton, which remains its service centre today.

Bought on the South Coast by a South Coast company for a South Coast employee, it appears this watch has been very well looked after and perhaps only worn on special occasions. Let’s hope the next owner takes the same care and appreciates this vintage Omega for what it is.

The case reference is 1325017. It features a 35mm 9ct yellow gold case with its original Omega signed leather strap and buckle.

Recently serviced and complete with its original box and warranty papers.
