POA

Description

A striking pair of Italian earrings dating to around 1900, crafted in rich 18ct gold in the Etruscan Revival style.

Each earring is shaped as a tapered torpedo drop, suspended from a finely detailed cone top adorned with applied petals, coiled wirework, and delicate granulation, all hallmarks of traditional Italian goldsmithing.

The surface decoration is intricate and expressive, with hand-formed rosettes, fluted leaf motifs, and chased details adding depth and rhythm to the design.

The shape is bold, but the details are anything but heavy-handed, each tiny leaf and twisted wire placed with care.

There’s a sense of rhythm to them, a quiet movement, true to the Italian love of gold.

Likely made in Southern Italy, these earrings speak to the romantic historicism of the turn of the century - a time when ancient forms were revived with flair and intention.

And while their roots are historic, they remain effortlessly wearable today - striking, sculptural, and unmistakably chic.

Approx. 5cm long and 1cm at widest point.
