A rare and historically significant vintage piece, this Rolex Oyster dates back to 1956 and is offered in remarkable condition — complete with its original reciept, issued in March 1956 at the Tong Hoe in Penang. Also accompanied with an insurance valuation from Andrew Smith Jewellers dated 14th April 2016 valuing the watch at £3250.
Vintage Rolex watches of this era are collectible in their own right — but finding one with its original receipt and in great condition is virtually unheard of.
The aged cream/ivory dial is absolutely stunning — showing rich natural patina that’s developed over nearly 70 years. Silver-tone hour markers and hands contrast beautifully against the dial, with the Rolex signature in matching silver. Marked ‘Shock-Resistant’ and ‘Swiss Made’, this dial is both correct and original — and visually captivating.
