Victorian 9ct Gold Acorn Drop Earrings, Spectrum Antiques
Victorian 9ct Gold Acorn Drop Earrings, Spectrum Antiques
£1,350.00
Description
A charming pair of Victorian drop earrings in 9ct gold, each modelled as an acorn — the textured, cross-hatched cup and smooth polished nut rendered with lovely naturalistic detail — suspended from an engraved oak-leaf surmount. The acorn and oak leaf were among the most cherished motifs of Victorian jewellery, symbols of strength, endurance and steadfast love, making these a quietly sentimental as well as a decorative pair.
Warm and tactile, with the soft glow of aged gold, they hang beautifully on shepherd's hook fittings and swing with movement. A delightful and very wearable example of Victorian naturalism, and a lovely everyday antique.
