Description

A charming lucky horseshoe ring, the antique head dating from the Victorian era and originally worn as a stick pin, now sympathetically remounted onto a 9ct gold shank for everyday wear. The horseshoe is set around its curve with alternating cabochons of deep-blue lapis lazuli and creamy half-pearls — a pretty, colourful combination that gives the little jewel real presence for its size.

The horseshoe has been a beloved symbol of good luck and protection for centuries, and was an especially popular sentiment in Victorian jewellery. As is natural with a converted piece, the yellow-gold antique head sits on a warmer-toned later shank — an honest, visible part of the ring's history — and it remains a genuinely wearable and cheerful thing, carrying all the charm of the period.
