Victorian Ruby & Rose-Cut Diamond Ring | 9ct Gold & Silver | English c.1850s
Victorian Ruby & Rose-Cut Diamond Ring | 9ct Gold & Silver | English c.1850s
POA
Description
A richly coloured ruby and diamond half-hoop ring, handmade in Britain in the 1850s.
The five cushion-cut rubies total approx. 0.40 carats, set in a scalloped silver gallery and flanked by rose-cut diamonds that catch the light with antique charm.
The rubies are set low and close, in a closed-back mount typical of the mid-Victorian era, with soft, almost glowing depth.
The ring is crafted in 9ct gold with a silver top - a combination commonly used at the time to accentuate the brightness of the diamonds.
It’s delicate yet vibrant, romantic without excess, and wears beautifully alone or stacked.
A quietly expressive piece of 19th-century jewellery, still full of life.
