This uncommon model was limited to only 950 pieces worldwide between 1971-1973.
This Zenith Defy Gauss reference A7686 features a unique aged silver dial with the date window at 4:30.
It's 38mm stainless steel case presents well with its fitted with Original Zenith nato logo screw down crown.
Comes on its full length Zenith Lobster bracelet with ZR endlinks.
The Gay Freres signed clasp is rather rare and has a double date stamping. On the left side of the GF logo we have "3/71" for the 3rd quarter of 1971. And on the right side we have "4171" for the 41st week of 1971.
Those of you with a calendar and calculator will notice the 41st week would fall into the 3rd quarter. Our own research indicates that being a transitional period for bracelets and date stamping convention, a few early versions of the lobster bracelet were signed by Gay Freres with their 3 digit date codes and also stamped with the 4 digit date code which Zenith later adopted for the bracelets.
Inside beats the Zenith El Primero calibre 2562PC automatic movement.
