A Pair of Russian silver gilt wine coolers, St Petersburg, 1840 by Carl Tegalsten.

The pair of wine coolers are beautifully engraved with the Imperial monogram of Grand Duchess Olga Nicholaevna. The other side is engraved with the Russian Imperial Eagle.

The Grand Duchess Olga Nicholaevna, Queen of Württemberg, was the daughter of Emperor Nicholas the First and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna of Russia. She married King Carl the First of Württemberg in 1846.

The handles as leafy branches with everted rims and with removable liners, raised on four scroll feet headed by leaves.
