Description
Chinese near pair of small blue and white plates, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated to the central roundels with a lady sitting on rockwork underneath a flowering prunus watching a young boy playing, the rim with four cartouches containing leafy fruits against a trellis ground, the reverse with four beribboned precious objects (babao); one with apocryphal Chenghua mark, the other with four character mark within concentric circles
Dimensions:
Diameter: 10.5cm. (4 1/8in.) and 10.3cm. (4 1/16in.)
Condition:
The larger with frit and flake to underside of rim, the smaller with firing crack to the footrim
