Description

An exceptionally elegant Circa 1950 vintage gemstone brooch, beautifully designed as interlocking two colour Gold leaves. This striking mid-century piece features an organic botanical motif, suspending a pair of playful "grape bunch" cluster drops.

The cascading drops are set with ten (10) claw set natural 'Round Cabochon Cut' Sapphires, totalling 4.00 Carats. These exceptional stones display a rich Medium / Dark Blue hue with a Moderate indication of Slight Thermal Enhancement, which is perfectly commensurate with the finest multi-gem set jewellery produced post 1915. Complementing the sapphires are seven 'Cabochon Cut' natural Rubies totalling 2.45 Carats, offering a vibrant Pinkish Red tone with a Moderate indication of Slight Fissure Filling, a characteristic typical of authentic mid-20th-century craftsmanship rather than the heavier treatment readings found in Late 20th Century Jewellery.
Woven throughout the naturalistic foliage, the Gem settings are interspersed with eight (8) 'Round Brilliant Cut' Diamonds with an estimated (total) weight of 0.64 Carats. These sparkling accent diamonds exhibit an outstanding F - G Colour and eye-clean VS Clarity, adding a brilliant, refined radiance to the overall design.

This vintage gold brooch is completed on a traditional hinged pin fastener with a secure barrel safety clasp.
