A beautifully detailed E. Wolfe & Co. hummingbird citrine & diamond brooch, crafted in 18ct yellow gold and depicting a hummingbird in flight, with its wings outstretched and finely engraved plumage capturing the movement and delicacy of the bird. The body is set with a rich golden-orange oval faceted citrine weighing approximately 2ct and measuring 11mm x 8mm. Sparkling round-cut diamonds decorate the head and wings, while a tiny ruby-set eye adds a charming touch of colour. The 26 diamonds total 0.30cts, are colour G-H and VS2 clarity. The intricately textured gold feathers, delicately modelled feet and long, tapering tail give the brooch a wonderfully lifelike quality. Made by the renowned London jewellers E. Wolfe & Co., the brooch is hallmarked for London 1989, with the maker’s mark HM. Measuring 30mm x 28mm weighing 6.5g, this is a particularly charming example of fine vintage animal jewellery.
