Edwardian Multi-Gem Duck Brooch - Saddingtons Jewellery Stand 375
£995.00
Description
This sweet Edwardian Multi-Gem Duck Brooch is a wonderfully characterful piece dating from the early 20th century. The duck’s body is formed from a beautifully polished oval green chrysoprase cabochon, surrounded by a finely modelled silver body set with diamonds. A tiny ruby-set eye provides a particularly charming finishing detail. Typical of fine jewellery of the period, the silver setting enhances the whiteness of the diamonds, while the reverse and brooch fitting are mounted in gold. The combination of richly coloured chrysoprase, diamonds and the tiny ruby eye gives this little Edwardian duck tremendous personality — an unusual and highly collectible antique animal brooch. The piece weighs 3.5g and measures 1.82mm x 1.85mm. Please contact us if you would like to know more about this lovely duck brooch or visit us at Saddingtons Jewellery, Mayfair.
