Wonderful Etruscan Cabochon Ruby & Sapphire Ring. A beautifully set rub over cabochon sapphire sits in the centre with 2 diamonds as accents and a stunning red round ruby on either side. The design is heavily influenced by classical Etruscan gold work, with intricate granulated detailing in the shank and scroll and rope sculptural forms that makes the ring look exceptional on the finger. The shank features an 18ct stamp alongside a GS makers mark and a continental assay mark. Likely of Swiss/Italian origin, circa 1970s–1980s, this is a beautifully made piece that reflects the high standard of continental gold-smithing of the period.
