A beautifully constructed Dutch bracelet from the Belle Époque era, made circa 1890s, in 18ct gold and platinum.
Light and refined, it features a softly glowing pearl at its centre, framed by two old-cut diamonds in a navette-shaped setting edged with fine milgrain, a signature detail of the period’s elegance.
The bracelet’s links alternate between smooth platinum panels and engraved gold segments, each joined by hand with subtle, skilled precision.
The repeating scroll motifs are slightly irregular, showing clear signs of hand engraving, typical of Dutch goldsmithing in the late 19th century, when mechanisation had begun, but artistry still depended on the craftsman’s eye.
Though distinctly Dutch in origin, this bracelet reflects the broader Belle Époque aesthetic: delicate, luminous, and full of quiet sophistication.
