Description
An early 19th Century French quarter repeating cylinder with gold dial in a gold open face case. Keywind gilt Lepine calibre movement with suspended going barrel with polished steel stopwork. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Push pendant quarter repeating on two rectangular section polished steel gongs. Visible repeating blue steel mainspring. Fine gold dial, engine turned centre, raised Roman numerals on a matted ground, blue steel Breguet hands. Slim engine turned 18 carat red gold open face case with engine turned bezels and middle. Pull and twist repeat plunger in the pendant. Wound and set through the gilt metal cuvette, maker’s mark “M.B” in a diamond.
