Description
A fine early 19th Century English quarter repeating duplex in a gold open face case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement, Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved cock with diamond endstone, polished steel regulator, chronometer type compensation balance with two wedge shaped weights, blue steel spiral hairspring. Duplex escapement, large brass escape wheel, pivots with endstones. Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs. Matted gold dial with subsidiary seconds, applied gold Roman numerals, gold hands. Substantial engine turned 18 carat open face case with ribbed middle. Wound through the gold cuvette, maker’s mark "LC". Pull and twist repeating push engraved with the initials "SS".
