Description
An early 19th Century quarter repeating verge with decorative dial in a gold open face case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Semi-circular engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret visible through a shaped aperture in the gilt cuvette. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring above a richly engraved circular plate. Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs. Unusual engraved gold dial partly enamelled to emphasise the central scene of a shepherd addressing a King. Black enamel Arabic numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Faded engine turned gold open face case with ribbed middle, gold push pendant, sprung gilt cuvette.
