Pair of Onyx and Marcasite Earrings by Theodor Fahrner, c.1920s

POA

Description

A beautifully balanced pair of Art Deco earrings by renowned German designer Theodor Fahrner, made in the 1920s and fully hallmarked TF 935.

Crafted in silver, each earring features a finely drawn stem set with shimmering marcasite, suspending a polished onyx cabochon below.

Just above the drop, a pair of stylised silver leaves adds soft articulation and further marcasite sparkle, giving the piece gentle movement and depth.

The composition is classic Fahrner - architectural, elegant, and impeccably proportioned.

Measuring approximately 5cm in length, the earrings draw the eye with their elongated line and tonal contrast: the deep gloss of the onyx plays perfectly against the light-catching clarity of the marcasite, creating a quiet drama that flatters without overwhelming.

These are earrings that reflect the very best of German Art Deco design, restrained yet expressive, wearable yet distinctive.

They carry Fahrner’s unmistakable modernist signature: one of craftsmanship, balance, and enduring style.

Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
