This may not be the cheapest example of a classic Rolex Explorer 16570 black dial from the early 2000's, however, it must be one of the best maintained. With lots of Rolex paperwork from various services over the years (at least 4). Box, papers, swing tag, full length bracelet, manuals and calendar make up the set.
Last serviced by Rolex in 2016 (documented), in addition, we have also serviced the watch in late 2025 meaning it runs at just 4 seconds per day with a healthy amplitude of 287. Pressure tested and waterproof to 100 meters too.
In terms of condition we have just had the watch polished professionally. The case and bracelet show very few marks or blemishes but there will be a few minor ones as you would expect of a watch of such age. The glass and dial have no imperfections to note. The bezel does show some scratching when up close again as you would expect of a watch of such age. Overall we would consider this watch to be in very good condition and excellently maintained.
Just one previous owner who purchased March 2002 (K Serial produced in 2001) and continued to service regularly with Rolex over the years.
40mm stainless steel case, black dial, fixed steel bezel with black markings. Oyster bracelet with fold clasp and full links. Operating from a 3185 calibre movement.
In our view in exceptional example, original and worn but mechanically maintained with no expense spared by Rolex. Surely a worthy collectible for the future and for sale at what we think is in excellent price.
