Silver & Black Enamel Bangle by David Anderson | Norwegian Art Nouveau c.1895–1901
POA
Description
A rare and refined example of early Norwegian silverwork, this enamel bangle by David Andersen was crafted in sterling silver and set with deep black enamel panels.
Made in Norway around 1895–1901, it bears the early David Andersen maker’s mark along with the 925S silver stamp, confirming its authenticity and quality.
Measuring 2cm wide with an internal diameter of approximately 6cm, the bangle’s minimalist form is enriched by subtle line engraving and delicate silver beading.
The jet-black enamel, set into recessed bands, adds contrast and depth to the clean, architectural silhouette.
Created at the end of David Andersen’s lifetime - just before his death in 1901 - this piece represents a pivotal moment in the firm’s history, bridging traditional Norwegian silversmithing with the emerging Art Nouveau style.
An elegant, early piece from one of Scandinavia’s most celebrated jewellery houses, both wearable and highly collectable.
Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
