Description
Victorian 1891 Gold Buckle Ring. A classic antique Victorian 18ct gold buckle ring, hallmarked for Birmingham 1891 with a W.W makers mark. There is also a ‘Q’ mark on the back of the ring, relating to the rings age. Designed as a richly modelled buckle and strap, the ring reflects one of the most enduring and symbolic motifs of Victorian jewellery design. Buckle jewellery traditionally represented loyalty, strength and eternal affection, making these rings highly popular throughout the 19th century. This beautifully wearable example features a smooth polished 18ct gold band with sculptural buckle detailing and a softly rounded profile that feels both substantial and elegant on the hand. Elegant worn alone and equally striking layered with contemporary bands, this antique buckle ring remains timeless more than a century after it was crafted. The piece weighs 11.5g.
