Victorian Citrine Cross Pendant - Saddingtons Jewellery Stand 375
£950.00
Description
A beautiful Victorian Citrine Cross Pendant, handcrafted in 9ct yellow gold and dating to the late 19th century. The elegant cross is formed from five beautifully matched faceted citrines, each displaying the rich golden-honey tones for which fine Victorian citrines are so admired. The stunning central cushion-cut citrine is complemented by four pear-shaped citrines, all individually cut down set with small claws in delicate 9ct yellow gold. The open back design allows light to pass through each stone, maximising their warmth, brilliance and sparkle. During the Victorian era, citrine was particularly popular in Scotland, where these vibrant gemstones were often incorporated into striking cross pendants and brooches. Their rich golden colour symbolised warmth, prosperity and optimism, making them treasured pieces of jewellery. The pendant weighs 11.3g and measures 51.3mm x 53.5mm, with a 0.5mm drop bale. This pendant does not come with a chain, a wide variety of chains are available upon request.
