Vintage Baltic Amber & Silver Bracelet | Kaliningrad c.1960s

Description

Made in the 1960s, likely in Kaliningrad, the heart of Soviet amber production, this bracelet is set with warm, honey-toned pieces of genuine Baltic amber, cut into bold geometric forms and linked with a double strand of 875-grade silver, the USSR’s official standard for fine silver.

It closes with its original box clasp, still secure more than 60 years on.

Stamped with the Soviet hallmark, a five-pointed star bearing the hammer and sickle, and the “875” silver purity mark, the bracelet also carries a workshop stamp from one of the Baltic state-run artels known for handcrafted amber jewellery.

This bracelet would have been cherished, and carefully kept, as it remains in excellent condition.
