This Vintage Opal & 1.40ct Diamond Heart Pendant is a beautifully handmade piece, centred with a heart-shaped opal displaying bright flashes of red , green and blue. The opal is claw set with 18ct gold surrounded by a sparkling halo of diamonds, with an additional diamond set into the articulated bale, the 20 diamonds totalling approximately 1.40 carats of diamonds. Handcrafted in platinum, the heart-shaped design has a wonderfully romantic feel while remaining extremely wearable. Opal and diamond heart pendants have a long tradition in fine jewellery, with particularly beautiful platinum examples appearing from the Edwardian and Belle Époque periods onwards. That heart-shaped pierced work on the back is a particularly lovely detail — it makes the pendant feel properly finished from every angle rather than simply decorative from the front. The back also features a continental marks. A lovely vintage jewel combining the softness and changing colour of opal with the brilliance of diamonds. The Pendant weighs 4.8g and measures 1.93mm x 1.96mm with a 0.85mm drop bale. The pendant does not come with a chain, a wide variety of chains are available upon request.
