Description
A very fine example of an early Victorian High Carat (tested LC) Yellow Gold six stone Gem set "Regard" ring, the graduating and beaded settings across the top are respectively set with a faceted Ruby, an Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby and a Diamond; the initials of each stone spelling "Regard". This beautiful collectors piece is decorated in the carved style with open strapwork scrolling foliate shoulders and each stone is set in a beaded "closed back" setting.
Please note that it is highly recommended that fine Antique Jewellery with closed back settings (frequently found in pieces from the Georgian, Victorian and earlier periods) should never be immersed in liquids; to do so would run the risk of deteriorating the foiling lining the back of each setting.
